Sharps Safety Information

Sharps Safety is one the key issues in the medical industry today. With over 8 million workers at risk for a variety of infectious diseases the United States Congress responded in 2001, resulting in the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act. This new OSHA standard calls for a variety of measures to improve worker safety, including mandatory use of sharps safe devices when available, non-managerial input on the selection of sharps safety devices, and annual documentation of the implementation of sharps safe devices. Diamatrix is proud to have offered engineered sharps safety knives prior to the new regulations, and we continue to lead the way in the ophthalmic industry with our line of ProTekt Sharps Safety stainless steel knives and instrumentation. The literature and links below will help your facility with the implementation of a sharps safety program that will be to everyone's benefit.
